Questions

Everything that arrives in the inbox, answered once.

Six questions come up more than any others. If yours is not here, the address at the bottom of every page reaches a person.

Is the published frame the same as the sizer at the gate?

Nearly. Some airlines publish in inches and convert, some round down to the nearest centimetre, and a handful publish a frame a little smaller than the cage their staff use. This page uses the published figure because that is the number a disagreement is settled with, and a traveller who argues from the published number has the stronger case.

Do the wheels and the handle count?

They count, and they are the reason two bags with the same shell measure differently. Listings sometimes quote the shell alone and sometimes the whole object; where both appear, the larger figure is the one on this shelf, because that is the figure a sizer reacts to.

How is a bag out of 17 frames still legal on a flight?

Because a fare can include more than one piece, and because some cabins are not the ones this page tests. The count is a summary of the frames listed here, not a verdict on a ticket. A bag that clears few frames can still be exactly right for the airline someone actually flies.

Can a soft bag be persuaded into a frame it misses?

At a counter, with a queue behind you, sometimes. This page does not count persuasion as a fit: a bag that goes in by a centimetre and a bag that has to be leaned on are different purchases, and the second one fails on the day the flight is full.

Why are the prices in Singapore dollars?

Because Amazon.sg is the marketplace the shelf is bought from, and it prices in Singapore dollars for Malaysian delivery addresses. The conversion and the delivery charge are shown at the checkout, which belongs to Amazon, not to this page.

Does anything here track me?

The tally is kept in local storage in this browser and never sent to this site. The server keeps ordinary request logs. The affiliate links hand a tag to Amazon, and Amazon's own cookies start once the link is followed. The privacy notice spells out each of those three.

Who do I tell when a frame has changed?

[email protected]. The airline's own page is the best evidence, and the correction lands in the next reading with the date changed beside it.
